Safety Matters is a non-governmental organisation established under the Indian Trusts Act with a single mission: to help make safety a way of life—not a periodic compliance chore. We believe meeting bare-minimum standards is not enough; safety requires buffers, disciplined decision-making, and shared responsibility for one another. A generative safety culture exists when every stakeholder—frontline teams, leadership, society, and government—feels accountable for managing risks and speaking up without fear.

Captain Amit Singh, FRAeS, is a senior aviation professional, safety and training leader, and founder-director of Safety Matters Foundation. With a career spanning more than three decades, he has worked across airline operations, safety governance, and training systems, with a deep focus on human factors, cognitive performance, and safety culture.
