Trainee Talk | Insights. Reflections. Attitude.
🎙️ Step into the jumpseat of a trainee pilot’s mind. Arushi shares real talk from training, moments of challenge and clarity, and what it really takes to grow wings.
In a world where safety is the cornerstone of aviation, it’s time to spotlight the voices shaping its future — with clarity, courage, and compassion.
SheSafe Skies is a new initiative by the Safety Matters Foundation dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in aviation safety — from trainee pilots and cabin crew to investigators, engineers, controllers, and safety leaders.
We believe that when women lead, safety gains depth, decisions gain dimension, and the entire industry moves closer to a culture that values empathy as much as efficiency.
Through blogs, interviews, expert panels, and mentorship stories, SheSafe Skies will:
- Share lived experiences from the field and flight deck
- Highlight safety challenges through a human-centric lens
- Inspire the next generation of female safety leaders
Whether you’re just starting your aviation journey or you’re already guiding safety at altitude — this is your platform.
Your story matters. Your insight counts. You belong here.
Taking you through this journey we introduce Arushi, the first SheSafe Sky blogger.
Hi, I’m Arushi Dubey — an aspiring commercial pilot from India, preparing to begin my flight training at the Auckland International Pilot Academy (AIPA), New Zealand in June 2025.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with a triple major in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Christ University, Bengaluru. My academic journey has been rooted in scientific inquiry and communication — from participating in a student training program at ISRO to contributing to science outreach through editorial work and public speaking.
Alongside clearing multiple DGCA theory exams, I’ve cultivated a deep interest in aviation safety, human factors, and accident investigation. My passion for aviation goes beyond the thrill of flying; I’m driven by a commitment to lifelong learning and a desire to help build a safety-conscious, knowledge-driven aviation community — both inside the cockpit and beyond.
